Welcome to the Finale of a Great Beginning....

Here are three incredible examples of how creative you can be with food! The best part about these ideas is the fact that my students came up with them instead of me. For my Art Culinaire class (a class focusing on world-class chefs from around the globe) I gave the students a black-box challenge for their final exam. The students could create any dish inspired by the chefs they learned about during the 11-week course. Some techniques and ingredients utilized were: methylcellulose in the carrot-Parmesan gnocchi, pairing Peaches and Portabella mushrooms as a dessert and finally another sweet-ending evolved from a unique spin on ratatouille using a wonderful combination of avocado, blackberry and late harvest peaches.
It's always a great day when you are asking the students: "how did you do that and can I get the recipe?!"
